Hi there - my name is Ed and I am the resident expert on mindfulness and wellbeing here at StudyStream.

Mindfulness is a type of meditation that has existed for thousands of years — and has recently been shown by scientific research to have effects on how our brain and body handle stress — as well as the potential to have lots of other positive effects in our lives. It involves practicing and training our attention to become more aware of our thoughts and feelings — particularly what we feel in our body.

Looking after our health and wellbeing through meditation can help us be more productive and successful — but there are also lots of other reasons why people meditate — and different people may find it helps them in lots of different ways. People find meditation can help them get a better nights sleep, improve their attention and concentration, and feel more authentic and connected in their relationships with themselves, other people, and with the world around them.

We will meet on Zoom every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 19:30 GMT for a 15 minute practice followed by an exploration of our experiences of the practice. You can join us following the link here.

Come and join me for our weekly mindfulness group where we will practice and share in our experiences of meditation together.
